Schlitterbahn

This year I was lucky enough to win four tickets to Schlitterbahn and then get seven more with our tickets to the Camps for Kids T-bones game event.  So we were able to go once with our friend Emily and her boys Beckley and Harrison.  Then we were able to go again with Grandpa and Grandma Ficklin.  The kids had an absolute blast both times!  Jeremy loved the big water slides and Haley was ok with them.  They both loved the kids play area with small water slides, a train and pirate ship.  Everyone enjoyed the lazy river with tidal waves.  Both times we had a picnic lunch there and the second time we even stayed well into nap time.  The kids and I were exhausted but had a great time!  They keep talking about it and smile and laugh every time we say Schlitterbahn.

Lake weekend

Last weekend we took our annual trip with some of the law school friends to the Lake of the Ozarks.  We always stay in my in-laws house and have a great time.  Some people decide to have a weekend without kids, but we took Jeremy and Haley and their friends Beckley and Harrison came with their parents too. Jeremy and Beckley had a lot of fun "camping out" together when they slept in their tents in the living room.  Jeremy and Haley both loved the model train Grandpa Steffens put together in the garage, the boat ride, pool and hot tub (on Friday night before the water was hot from the adults using it).  Jeremy didn't like the jets in the hot tub for some reason though.  They both got a chance to help daddy drive the boat.  It's always an exhausting weekend, but tons of fun.  I loved being able to cook and help "take care" of everyone.

The suite life

Sunday we had the chance to sit in a very nice suite at the Royals game.  I won it through a contest that Sprint sponsors.   My parents and some of out friends from law school and their kids were able to go with us.  The suite was really nice and gave the kids a lot of room to move around.  They had chicken tenders, hot dogs, soda, water, veggies, chips, popcorn and ice cream for us.  We also had our own bathroom inside the suite.  We could definitely get used to watching games this way. The Royals won in the 10th inning and then after the game, we took Jeremy and Haley to run the bases.  Everyone had a great time!
