Lake weekend 2011

 Every summer we go to my in laws lake house for the weekend with some of our friends from law school.  The first year, we didn't have any kids there, and then we slowly added over the years.  This year, we had 12 adults and 7 kids.  At least the adults still outnumber the kids at this point!  All the kiddos did a a great job playing together and sleeping away from home. Haley went on her first boat ride and enjoyed it. She did ok with the life jacket for a little bit, but tired of it quickly.  Jeremy kept his on the whole time.  Both kids were very social and well behaved the whole weekend.  I was kind of worried how Jeremy would do because he had "the worst ear infection' our pediatrician had ever seen.  However the meds kicked in and he is doing much better now.

 This past Friday night, most of our family tailgated and went to the Royals game.  It was buck night and there were fireworks afterwards, so everyone had a  great time, even though the Royals lost.  Jeremy and Haley enjoyed playing with their cousins, grandparents and aunt and uncle.

  Today we went to the pool with our cousins, Isabella, Francesca and Claudio.  Jeremy had a blast playing with Claudio and the girls and Haley really enjoyed the girls.  Jeremy normally likes to stay in the shallow end and pour water, but today he finally let me carry him to the deeper end and eventually started jumping in so I could catch him.  Once he realized he could do it, he loved it and wanted to do if over and over again.  There are a few pics from today and I hope to post a video from Jeremy jumping soon.

Beating the heat

 Even though it's been very hot, we have still been trying to keep busy.  We managed to make it to a great newly renovated Franklin Park on the one day it wasn't a hundred degrees.  We have played at US toy, went to Jumping Jax, went to a few Royals game, celebrated a friend's baptism and played with friends and family.  We have also been to the pool and are going again tomorrow.
