We left on July 5th for our trip to visit all the baseball stadiums in California and got back on July 16th. It was a long trip, but the kids did very well. We had a few times on the plane and in a few restaurants when we were "those" people, but overall things went well. Especially considering Jeremy and Haley's routines were completely thrown off and we had three plane rides, three different hotels and two different rental cars.
When we left KC we flew to the Oakland/San Fransisco area and stayed at the Omni, which was very kid friendly. We had the kids' fantasy suite and it was outstanding, complete with milk and cookies every night. While in the San Fransisco area we saw the A's game and Giants game, went to Fisherman's Wharf, the Exploratorium, and drove across the Golden Gate Bridge. When we went to the game in Oakland, we had seats 3 rows behind home plate where they serve you all you want to eat and drink. Jeremy loved the fact that he could have a candy basket delivered to him whenever he wanted.
After San Fransisco, we had a flight to LA. While in LA, we went to Hollywood, Griffith Park, the Dodgers and Angels games. For the Dodgers games, we were able to go with our friends from law school (John and Sara) who moved to California, which was a lot of fun.
Then we drove to San Diego (the best part of the trip). While in San Diego, we went to the beach, played in the pool, the Padres game, Sea World, the railroad museum and zoo. There were so many fun kid friendly things to do, Jeremy had a blast. He was so excited to see all of the trains at the museum, play in the sand and see all the animals and fish. Haley enjoyed hanging out too, but of course couldn't do as much as Jeremy. We stayed at Loews resort on Coronado Island. It was beautiful, kid friendly and had a lot to do! Their customer service skills at the front desk were horrible, but everyone else was great.
The weather was wonderful and even a bit chilly at night, too bad we couldn't bring it back with us! I have soooo many pictures, but I can't post them all. I will however be posting some within the next couple of days so check back!
