This year Kansas City had the chance to host the 2012 All Star Game. We were able to get tickets to all the events and had a great time. We started the festivities by taking the kids to the Fan Fest, along with Grandpa and Grandma Ficklin and our friends Scott and Claire. Jeremy and Haley had a great time. On Sunday, we took Jeremy to All Star Sunday at the stadium where they had the celebrity softball game and futures game. Haley stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Ficklin. She wasn't too happy when we left her without Jeremy, but was able to calm down after a bit. Jeremy was asking about Haley the whole time too and wanted her to be there. However it was a long day, during nap time and Jeremy got to do a lot he wouldn't have been able to do with Haley there, so it was a special day for him. Jeremy loved doing the pregame hitting off the tee, seeing the Clydesdales and playing in the little K. His favorite was the golf at the little K.
The next day was the Home Run derby that we didn't take the kids to. They enjoyed an evening at home with Grandma and Grandpa Ficklin and we had a great time too. Then on Tuesday we took the kids to the all star parade on the plaza during the day. There are a few pictures of that coming soon. Then in the evening was the game that Tim and I went to. We dropped the kids off at Grandpa and Grandma Steffens' house to spend the night. They had a really fun time there and slept well. Overall it was a really fun week and definitely great for the city!
